Zymachi know how things work, but they don’t know what things are. Proteena provides names to things. In one scene she names Zymachi themselves following a sort of binary system: O=Zero, X=Yeoman, OO=Moon-moon, OX=Antagonist, XX=Charm, O/X=Healer, X/O=Idiot (in a first version names were: Cyclops, Druid, Goggle, Boxer, Numb, Skeleton and Clown). Baptized Zymachi conform their behaviour to the given name.
Finding the word “Zymachi” was hard work, especially because there was another candidate: Placebot, conjunction of placebo and robot. Unfortunately Place Bots are specific codes used in Lotus or Java scripts, so I had to discard the word, and was only left with a logo:
42 variations on ZYMACHI logo.
The CRACK! 2006 staff asked me to draw badges for merchandising purposes. They told me the size and said I could put 40 on a single A4 sheet. At the end I fitted 42 variations of a single subject in the assigned space.
